Almost Christmas!!

SO I have really slacked off lately on my blogging. With the holidays and everything going on it has been a little hectic. The last month and a half has flown by!

The first week in December I became certified to teach Jazzercise and I am very excited to do that! Jazzercise has really helped me keep the weight off and stay healthy, so if anyone is looking for a exercise program that works come check it out. And come to my classes ;)

Paris Baby has been BUSY!!! All our wonderful mommies are having these beautiful babies! Jennifer & Justin Bounds had their baby, Landry, a couple days before Thanksgiving. She is so beautiful! (and has really given Tab baby fever) After the first of the year Paris Baby will be expanding, AGAIN! We love love love our location now but if you have been to the store lately you know that we are busting out at the seams. So we are making the move down town early 2010, more details to follow when we know more.

What else....OH my sister came home from England last week and I am sooooo happy to have her home. I missed her so much!

We (ryan) did finish the bathroom remodel(minus a few small details) and I just love the new bathroom.

Just finished up the Christmas shopping with Tab in Allen last week and we had Paris Baby Christmas party (aka me and tab over indulging at PF Changs) and it was great!

I hope everyone is having a great & blessed Christmas season. Have a wonderful Christmas and I can't wait to see everyone in 2010!

The Pink Ribbons Project

The Pink Ribbons Project is a benefit using dance as a medium to promote breast cancer awareness. Most of you reading this know I am currently training to become a jazzercise instructor. Jazzercise has teamed up with The Pink Ribbons Project to raise money and help promote breast cancer awareness. Jazzercisers from Texas will be performing at half time of the Mavericks game on February 28th. The Pink Ribbons Project was founded by 2 sisters, one of which was diagnosed with breast cancer 15 years ago. It is a wonderful cause. If you would like to donate please email me melissasgordon@hotmail.com I am collecting donations up thru the performance date.

I just realized it has been a little bit since I last blogged, and I am sorry I will do better...we have just been crazy busy at Paris Baby.

First off, I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to the two men that helped me with my smoking car at Paris Cardiology Center!! Aus & I were waiting for my GMA to get through with her doctors appt and all of the sudden I smelt something really bad and right after smoke started coming out of the hood. I grabbed Aus fast because the first thing that came to mind was my car was catching on fire (of course i think the worst) I ran inside of Paris Cardiology Center (teary eyed and frantic) and 2 men came outside and helped me. I am so sad that I didn't get there names. They were both very kind and patient with me and I am so very thankful! I have to add, my car is finally paid off in 2 more pymts and last week we had to replace a motor in one of the doors for the window to roll up and now my smoking engine....it is true that things fall apart once paid off (or close to paid off) Thank you again to those 2 ment that helped me, if you happen to know them please pass on my gratitude and I would love to know their names.

Sooo, it was a pretty fun morning with Aus until the smoking car...here is some of the pics. He had to have the curling iron and singing bear pirate today :)

My great friend, Angela, started making jewelry several months back and she is amazing! I am telling you I have NEVER been disappointed. She just made me this necklace and a bracelet to match and it is my favorite so far. She does custom orders so check out her website www.rockware.biz

If you want to join Jazzercise October is the month to do it. Kristina, the center owner, through the year, has referral gifts for existing Jazzercisers and incentive gifts for newbies to Jazzercise. In the month of October if I refer someone to sign up for Jazzercise I get an IPod speaker docking station. Which I need sooo bad. So if you have been thinking of joining or know someone who has been put me down as a referral and I will owe you big! I even have a coupon at the store for $20 off your joining fee.

Onto important things...IT'S FRIDAY!! YAY! Got a pedicure planned for this morning w/Tab because my feet look horrid. Then going to the store for a bit then going to do a little shopping with Aus. We were looking at the pottery barn catalog last night and he kept getting stuck on the pages with airplanes hanging from the room ceilings. So we are going to try and find him an airplane that he can have.

YAY its Friday! What is it about the weekend that makes me so happy ;)

It's been a while since my last post and it has been a busy busy month! Candace and Justin finally tied the knot last weekend and I am so excited about that. The wedding was beautiful, not to mention we had a blast!

Got any plans for the weekend?? If not, come and see us Saturday...we are having our ROCK SALE! Draw a rock at checkout and see what you save! We had such a great response from the last rock sale we had that we decided to give it another go and will be having these sales at different times throughout the year.

So we leave early early early tomorrow for Las Vegas and are so excited! Wish me luck that Aus is a good flyer! :)

Second, if you are looking for an exercise routine that works and would like to try out JAZZERCISE you can do so this Sunday at 4:15 for FREE!! Yes that is FREE! I have been going to Jazzercise since the end of May and love it! And if you can't make it on Sunday thats ok, you can go to Club Jazzercise on Friday September 11th at Crosswire from 7-8. Jazzercise of Paris has rented the club for 1 hour for a work out and again it is FREE for you guys that are wanting to try it out. I won't be able to make it on Sunday since we will be in Vegas but me and Tab will definitely be there to sweat it out on Sept 11th so please come! You won't be sorry.

What a day!

So...we officially started potty training with Austen today. We bought one of the new potty benches from Paris Baby and put in our bathroom. I explained to Aus what it was and to tell me when he had to go poo-poo or peepee. Well, ALL DAY long Austen had to go peepee, or so he said. So I would run him into the bathroom and sit on the potty bench but no big job or little job. We did this, at the very least, 15 times today with no avail. So I am crossing my fingers for luck tomorrow :)

Since Aus didn't use the potty I was determined to get him to eat vegetables. (very very tricky) I added a little ranch to his carrots and he ate the whole container (must be like his Daddy, Ryan doesn't eat anything without ranch)

After all the potty training and veggie eating I am pooped (no pun intended)

Well....I finally did it! I caved in and gave my blessing for Ryan to get Aus a dog. He (ryan) has been working on me since Aus was about 3 months old. :)

But...I love our little dog. He is a mini schnauzer and his name is Trooper. Right now he is hiding under the couch because him and Aus have been playing a bit much this afternoon so he needed some peace and quiet for a nap! LOL

Austen's Trip to Pennsacola

We went to Pennsacola on Thursday evening and had a blast! It was a looonnnnggg drive but it wasn't too bad. Austen did a lot better than I thought. Any time he got a little fussy we just gave him a dum-dum sucker and he was as happy as could be. :)

One of the things I love about Jazzercise is that they offer child care. Well, Austen has made a friend. On Friday I was filling in as childcare worker for my sister and got to see Austen & his friend Nicholas play. They play so well together! I was just amazed. I had heard that they were little buddies but I finally got to witness them in action. Too funny!

It looks like Aus is just tugging on Nicholas's outfit but he is actually pulling him up from falling off the chair. It was the sweetest thing I ever saw.

We went out to the lake this weekend with the Yaross' and on the way out Austen grabbed my sunglasses from my head and wanted me to put them on him. So I did, and this is the outcome.

So we went to the store today and everytime we go it never fails Aus likes to play with this ancient tricycle cart thingy. It is old and definitely does not roll smoothly but it makes a great display! (thanks Trish for letting us borrow)

Well, Austen finally did it!! He got in it on his own BUT got out a different way he got in...hmmm, funny little guy!

One HOT day at the zoo!

We went to the Ft. Worth zoo yesterday and it was HOT...no, more like scorching. When Candace and I spoke a few months ago about when to go, we wanted the earliest possible saturday because of the heat. And we probably picked the hottest day out of the whole summer. :) It was a blast though! I think the kids enjoyed it and the adults.

YAY! It is Wednesday which means it is that much closer to Saturday! We have a Ft. Worth Zoo trip planned and I am so ecstatic. I went to jazz class this morning at 8 and I am telling you Juli gave us a work out! My muscles are still screaming, lol, in a good way though.

OH since i try to post a picture with every blog I decided to post this one. A few months ago, Ryan and I did a concept shoot for Tara Swain www.taraswainphotography.com and Jessica Hicks www.jhicks-photography.com Let me first say that these two ladies are amazing photographers! Jessica just posted some of the pics from the shoot on her site a few days ago and this was one of them. Married 3 years and luckily I still fit in my wedding dress. ;) And look at Ryan, hasn't changed a bit, except for maybe his gray spot (just kidding honey).

It is a beautiful day today so we decide to go outside to see how Austen does in his little sand box/pool. Last weekend we went to Candace's and Austen went to swim with Ryleigh and kind of freaked out. He did not like the water!! So we put him in today and he loved it! Kind of hesistant at first but then he got the hang of things.

He liked it so much and had soooo much fun throwing his toys in his mini pool that he decided it would be fun to throw my phone in also.....hmmmmm....NOT GREAT! Cross your fingers we are trying to dry my phone out as I type and hope that it works after.

Help I've Fallen & I Can't Get Up...

I meant to post this a couple days ago but totally forgot....When Aus and I were leaving on Wednesday he fell on his bottom outside of the car. Well he wouldn't get up. So I threatened to take his picture and got close to him and he scrammed! He has been less photogenic lately.

Oh, can't forget to tell you, I started Jazzercise on Monday. WOOOWOO! My sister, Ashley, has been on me for at least a year to start but I always had a lame excuse not to. But I finally gave it a try and LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! (i have been to 1 class everyday this week except Wednesday) I love it so much that I convinced Tabitha to do it also. She started Thursday and then last night insisted on going to class this morning at 9:10. LOL So, ladies...if you are looking for a great way to get bikini ready, try it! www.jazzercise.com They have child care too, which is such a blessing for me!

well....2 things.....

My sister just got home late Monday night from England! YAY! I missed her so much! She is speaking with a bit of an accent but I guess she will lose that soon. :)You will be seeing more of my sis when you come into the store. She is going to help out on Tuesday & Thursdays. She came in today and just went bonkers because we have so much new stuff since she was in last. (last time she was in the store we were in Blossom)

#2...today is mine & Ryan's 3rd anniversary! We celebrated a little early and went to see Rodney Carrington in concert this past Friday night with Roni, Jonathan, and my BFF from college Kati. One word, HILARIOUS!!! That guy is so funny. We were all in tears.

It has been a bit since I last blogged. I have been so busy these past couple weeks. But I have great news, my sister Ashley is coming home on May 18th from London! YAY! I have missed her so much. She is also going to be helping out at the store again. YAY! My whole family has missed her so much and we all can't wait to see her.

Hope everyone is doing great AND remember that Mother's Day is this weekend! When April hits I have a busy stretch. Austen's brithday is April 14th, then Ryans's Birthday is May 2nd, then Mothers Day the following weekend, then Ryan and I anniversary is May 20th.....BUSY 2 MONTHS :)

Just thought that I would share one of the big reasons I have been so busy lately....my little Austen is in the exploring stage :) Hope everyone has a great week!

Just wanted to share with you guys the picture below...let me set the scene for you:

I am in a hurry and running behind (like normal these days) and go to change Austen's diaper on the floor rather than on his changing table. So basically I don't have everything at an arms reach. The second I get his diaper off he jumps up and flees out the door...totally NAKED. On his way out the door he scoops up his golf caddy and makes a mad dash for it. He comes back after he has made a little puddle in the floor!!! But how can you be mad when you see a naked baby running around with a golf caddy in his hand???

**I guess he is not totally naked he does have 1 sock on :)

I cannot believe it is already Saturday again! This week has just flown by.

So, last weekend I decided to go rent the movie Twilight because I wanted to see what all the hype was about.....got the movie, watched it twice then went and bought the book. :) I am almost done with Twilight so me and Aus are going to go to Hastings tonight after the store closes and get New Moon...I am so excited to see what happens next. haha I am such a nerd.

I gotta finish getting ready so I can head to the store (Tab told me to take my time getting ready this morning. isn't she the best! plus she knows I have become accustomed to sleeping in and it is hard for me to function in early hours)...we are having an AWESOME sale today...15% OFF ALL BABY LEGS!!! Those things are so wonderful and go like hot cakes!

This week we got Austen's 1 year pictures taken. His first birthday isn't until April 14th but I wanted to get pictures done for his invitations. The weather was nice but a little chilly....and Aus isn't as chipper in the morning as usual. But he did great. What a week!

This week has just flown by! Tab and I went to market with Sonya last weekend and I feel like I have been playing catch up ever since. BUT, we have some pretty awesome stuff coming in over the next few weeks. Friday we got new buggy seat covers and some cute cute cute new diaper bags in from a company that totally supports cervical cancer research which I believe is a very worthy cause.

So, St. Patty's day....did everyone have a great one? We did the wearing green thing of course (ya don't want to get pinched :) ) and I decided that I was going to cook an Irish meal for my fam and some of our friends. I had planned to research what to cook on Monday and Tuesday but got so busy at the store that I ran out of time and guess what we had......SPAGHETTI...not Irish but still very good!

Here are some pics of Aus in his Irish attire and some of him doing his new favorite hobby...which is swiffering. Out of all the colorful and noisy toys to play with he is happiest with a spatula and a swiffer. :)

Haha, not really. But my Mom told me that when I was a kiddo I would watch MTV and rock out to that song! And I actually have a scar on my forehead from headbanging too hard and accidentally hitting the TV...OUCH!!

What made me think of it is this picture below of Aus with his Auntie Ang...he loves when she comes to visit him at the store!

The weather has been so humid and warm lately! I love it...but I hear that it is not going to last and we should be getting another spout of cold weather this week. (booooo!) I love Spring & Summer. I am just not a cold weather person. I guess that is good since I live in Texas.

Me & Aus have been to Hobby Lobby just about everyday since it opened. I think he likes it too. Yesterday morning we went and I let him pick out an Easter basket. But as we are pulling into the parking lot, I promise, I heard him grumble 'What are we doing?' I almost had a heart attack! It was as if Ryan was in the car with us hidden and speaking to me from the back seat, lol.

Austen is doing so well at the store. He loves seeing Britney & Camdyn every week. And he actually cried last week when a customer left. (Mary D. he knows who you are and ran to the door and cried when you left last week)

Brothers & Sisters on Sunday and low and behold when Kitty brings her new baby Evan home for the first time she is prepared for her first diaper change with a Pee-pee Teepee!!! Of course I immediately text Tab to share the news and she responds that she also saw a diaper caddy (available now in our store) and a Boppy (on its way to our store) in the room too!!! We get so excited when we see the actual products we carry in our store featured on a TV show or more commonly in Parents Magazine.

If you are having a little boy or know someone who is the Pee-pee Teepee's are a MUST HAVE for diaper changes!! :)

Hold a spoon??

I wanted to share these pics with you because this week has been very interesting at breakfast time. Each day I can tell when I feed Aus that he wants to be able to grab the spoon and feed himself. So I decided that at breakfast this week that I would let him practice and learn. Who knew that learning to hold a spoon could be so tricky. He is still a while away from being able to feed himself on his own but practice, practice, practice...

It has been a rough couple of days, Aus has been running fever and I took him to see his doctor yesterday evening and he has a mild ear infection :( Which breaks my heart...but on the flip side, he has been feeling 100% better since last night so he has been himself again, YAY!

We slept in this morning,lol, which is becoming one of mine and Austen's 'things'. When we did get up, as I am making a cup of coffee (side note: Thank you to Wynona for the coffee maker for my birthday and the coffee from Paris Coffee Co. it gets my juices flowing in the morning) I notice Aus becoming very quiet so I run to find him....and caught him red handed.......

Well, so far I have survived my new career, stay at home mom. We have had a blast at the store this week. Aus loves to greet all of the customers! And he loves to play with all of the babies that come in. He is especially good at rearranging the store for me and Tab ;)

Grand Opening was AWESOME!!

We had the BEST time on Grand Opening day! A HUGE thank you to all of you who came out to support us. We really had a great time talking with you all. We got to see some of 'Our Mommies' (*if you register at Paris Baby you some how become ours :) ) and we got to meet some new Mommies which is always a blast. If you didn't make it out you missed out on some really awesome hot dogs! A big thank you to my husband, Ryan, for manning the grill and making sure everyone got fed.

Oh Austen...

Austen has been on the move this week. He is 9 months and took his very first step a about 3 weeks ago. Sooo, for the last 3 weeks every day he takes more and more steps. Now I feel like I am chasing him everywhere, and he is faster than I am, lol.

Speaking of Aus I have a bit of news......after a lot of consideration Ryan and I have decided that I am going to be a stay at home mommy! After almost 6 years at the Paris Orthopedic Clinic my last day will be February 13th. Which also means that beginning February 16th when you stop by the store you will be seeing a lot of me and Austen which I am very excited about. So Mom's bring your babies when you come and and we will have mini play dates while you shop :)

We FINALLY moved!!

So......we did it! We have officially moved Paris Baby to Paris. It was a very long weekend and the only part of the superbowl I got to see was when the Steelers made the game winning touch down. Oh but don't lose heart, my husband and my son got to catch the entire game, including pre-game airings.

Back to the store, we are so excited for everyone to come in and see all the hard work we put into it. We have so much new inventory that no one has seen AND we have 2 more shipments of new products that will be arriving today and tomorrow. Tab and I were so tired yesterday evening that we didn't even think to get a picture of the new store to post. But, that gives you an even better reason to come in and see the store first hand.

Don't forget about our GRAND OPENING SALE this Saturday w/Small Town Girls! Sonya (the owner of STG), Tab, and I are super excited to see everyone. We have several items to give away and don't forget the Moses Basket promotion that we have been doing all month.

It is almost time for Paris Baby to relocate to our new home. It seems like February 2nd is just around the corner. Tab & I (and our dear husbands) have been working hard to get Paris Baby ready for the big day. Then, not even a week after we open we are having our grand opening with Small Town Girls which we are ecstatic about!! We are going to have such a blast that day and I hope everyone can be there to browse the 2 stores.

Many of you that have come in over the last few months have been greeted and assisted by our little helper Ashley Ballard, who is also my sister. Ashley is off to England this week to continue her education at Calvary Chapel College. We will miss you so much and hope you have a trip of a lifetime! Coming in to help us out at the store will be Candace Yaross, who will also be accompanied by her daughters Ryleigh (3 years) & Reese (4 months). Candace being a mother of two is very knowledgeable of our products and their helpful features. So feel free to ask her anything :)

I Baby Legs!!!

We just got Baby Legs at Paris Baby last week and I was so excited because I have been wanting a pair for Austen for a few months now. Talking from a Mom's stand point, they are awesome! I let him crawl around the house in the them and sleep in them. (which makes diaper changing a little easier.)

Here is a pic of Austen in his Black Sport Baby Legs and his Johnny Cash shirt, which I got at Small Town Girls Boutique. Thanks for recommending the shirt Sonya :)

Hi everyone! Tabitha and I decided to start a blog to let you guys know what is going on with us and Paris Baby. Let me start with an introduction.

I am Melissa Gordon. I have an amazing husband, Ryan Gordon and a beautiful baby boy, Austen Brant Gordon, who just turned 9 months last week. I have one brother; Shawn and one sister; Ashley (who currently takes wonderful care of our customers at Paris Baby) My mom, Hiromi, is my rock and my hero. She is an amazing woman, and has been such an avid Paris Baby supporter. Not to mention an awesome Mimi! I currently work at Paris Orthopedic Clinic as the Network Administrator.

We opened Paris Baby back in September in a tiny space in Blossom. Now we have outgrown our space and are making the move to Paris! As of February 2nd we will be in our new building at 803 24th SE Paris, Texas, next door to Taylor Glass & Small Town Girls. We have super fun neighbors and are so excited about the move and have been painting all weekend. On the painting note a BIG thank you to Ronnie & Trish Parnell for a majority of the painting, you guys did a great job!! Please continue to come see us at our Blossom location thru January 31st. Oh and if you ladies have any ideas on how to get our husbands to help with the heavy lifting on Super Bowl Sunday (the day before we open in Paris) we would love to hear your ideas! :)

I will be updating the post as much as possible so check back often to hear about all the great new products we will be getting in within the next couple of weeks. Mom's don't forget we have baby registry!
